Follow the brewing directions and grind guidance on the package, as the intended method depends on how the coffee is processed. Using water that has just stopped boiling rather than aggressively boiling water can help avoid a harsh, burnt taste.
Bitterness can come from over-extraction, water that is too hot, or using too much coffee for the amount of water. Try a shorter brew, slightly cooler water, or a less concentrated preparation.
Plain coffee is very different nutritionally from a drink made with milk, plant drinks, sugar, syrups, or cream. Those additions can substantially change the drink’s overall energy and carbohydrate content.
If it contains caffeine, it may help some people feel more alert and focused before exercise. It is not ideal if it triggers stomach upset, jitters, or if a late workout means caffeine could interfere with sleep.
Caffeinated coffee later in the day can delay sleep or reduce sleep quality, especially in people who are sensitive to caffeine. An earlier serving or a decaffeinated alternative may be a better option for sensitive sleepers.
Many people tolerate it well, but coffee may worsen heartburn, nausea, or stomach discomfort in some individuals. Having it with or after food can be more comfortable if those symptoms occur.
That depends on the product’s grind and the manufacturer’s brewing recommendation. Very finely ground coffee may suit a cezve-style preparation, while a coarser grind is usually intended for another brewing method.
Keep it tightly sealed away from heat, moisture, light, and strongly scented foods. A cool, dark cupboard is usually better than leaving it exposed on the counter.
Repeatedly freezing and thawing coffee can introduce moisture and unwanted odours. If long-term storage is needed, freeze airtight single-use portions and thaw only the portion you plan to use.
The idea that coffee automatically dehydrates everyone is misleading. In regular coffee drinkers, moderate coffee intake can contribute to fluid intake, but it should not replace drinking water throughout the day.
